Chapter Text

Captain Arnam retired to his room at the inn, letting the crew squabble among themselves over who would go in which room. He expected to spend the night alone. He cherished what little time he had with her before she disappeared for another few months. He kicked off his boot and pulled off his clothes before hobbling along on his peg leg into a bed that was almost too small for him. He closed his one good eye to go to sleep when he heard that melodious voice in his mind. “I told you I’d see you soon.” Methuselah waved at him with a tentacle when he opened his eyes.

He immediately leapt out of bed to hug her. “Oh, Arnam! I haven’t been gone that long!” Methuselah projected undisguised joy at their reunion. She’d been absent for a day and he acted as though he hadn’t seen her in a year.

“Forgive me. I’m just so happy to see ye again so soon.” He smiled at her. Methuselah returned his embrace. She began to blush, her cheeks turning pale when she realized he was naked.

“Mind if I join you, Captain?” She asked.

“Of course not! Yer always welcome.” He replied, releasing her. She immediately slid her dress off of her lithe form, letting it fall to the floor. He stared at her with a slowly widening grin.

“Someone’s getting a little excited below deck, Captain.” She flirted with him.

“Would ye like to come aboard?” He asked her, offering his hand. She reached for his hand and he tenderly held it.

“I would enjoy that.” She responded. He gently pulled the levitating illithid closer, bringing her into bed with him. The transition to the bed was seamless as if they’d rehearsed it many times.

He gently laid her down, leaning in to kiss her passionately. His kisses slowly trail down her body. “Feeling rather daring today, are we?” Methuselah knew where he planned to put his tongue, but didn’t say anything until he was kissing her inner thighs..

“Permission to come aboard?” The captain asked her.

“Permission granted.” She affirmed. She felt his tongue licking at her cloaca. She began to chirr and purr with a voice that was melodious to the captain.

She gripped the sheets, her tentacles writhing uncontrollably. The burly seven foot tall man effortlessly spread her legs. “Oh, my!” She gurgled. She held her legs in place for him, giving him access to her body, surrendering it to him with enthusiasm. His shaft was hard, feeling her pleasure in his mind. The fact that he could know he was making her feel good, and feel it in his mind was something extremely arousing to him. Methuselah could feel Arnam’s desire for her plunging into her psyche, melding together into one desire.

“Please touch yourself for me!” Methuselah encouraged him to build their pleasure ever higher. She gently rubbed her clawed fingertips over his scalp, pulling him ever deeper into sensual bliss. He began to stroke his hardened member, getting a louder purr out of her. Her legs began to tremble. He dutifully continued. He knew she was listening.

“I’ll do anything it takes, my guiding star.” Arnam told her mentally.

“Oh, Arnam!” She let out a gurgled gasp. She couldn’t hold back her wild desires anymore. “Take me!” She urged. They felt a mutual desperation to make wild and passionate love that neither could definitively pin on the other. They both wanted it as one. Arnam pinned her down, and tested the waters, teasing her cloaca with the tip of his co*ck. “Mmn! More! Take me hard, Captain!” She demanded.

“Ye want some rougher sailing?” He asked with a smirk.

“Aye, aye, Captain!” Methuselah replied eagerly. He plunged his shaft into her slimy cloaca, thrusting into her with a pace that gradually picked up.

“Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh yesss!” She gurgled and purred. She couldn’t stop her gooey moans. They grew in volume with the way that he ravished her. She didn’t want to hold them in. She gripped his arm as his thrusts shook her. He could see the sparkling of her cosmic eyes, as he looked down at her face. He felt as though he were literally seeing stars. Her tentacles were caressing him in methodical yet elegant strokes. She was marking him with her dripping tendrils and the scent of lilac became apparent. He practically ripped her pleasure from her. She craved him. She dug deep into his psyche, planting and nurturing the seed of her desire within him.

Methuselah was feeling Arnam’s pleasure layered over hers. She let him ravage her. Everything in her enthusiastically begged for him. “I want you! I need…!” She couldn’t form coherent thoughts. Her tentacles clung to him, slime dripping down his back and dripping off of him. Her eyes rolled back as their bond both physical and mental deepened. She felt his exertion responding to his eagerness to please her. They became weightless. Her cosmic power surged through his mind. He let it in and let it flow through him. They were luminous as they floated through the void of wildspace.

“I want our love to be the brightest star…” Arnam told her. They felt themselves flushing hot as they merged into one star.

She cried out as he filled her, knowing for certain that someone must have heard her at this point. Arnam emptied everything he had into her with a primal growl.

“Oh, dear… You really plundered my booty, Captain!” She let out a gooey giggle as he tiredly flopped beside her. His sem*n was dripping out of her and she was too tired and stunned to care. He was sweating from how much effort he exerted.

“I’ll never turn down an invitation to come aboard from ye.” He told her in a soft husky voice.

“I love ye, Methuselah. I can’t even pretend like ye aren’t the most treasured person in the multiverse to me.” Arnam told her. It was as if he would explode if he had to keep his love for her inside any longer.

“Oh, Arnam...” She blushed.

“Call me a fool all ye like. It’s true.” He smiled through every kiss he planted on her.

“You’re more than a fool, captain. You’re my dandy fool…” She giggled softly at his affection.

She took his face into her hands and gently pressed her forehead to his. “I’ve been considering your request to meet your crew…” She informed him.

“Still nervous about it?” Arnam asked.

“Yes… I would do anything to protect you, even from your own crew.” She told him. She once conjured an entire cosmic storm in space, sending an enemy ship that was after him to parts unknown in the multiverse when it was sucked into the wormhole she created.

“I know ye would. Yer always looking out for me. I just think ye deserve a little more credit.” The captain thought she was wonderful. He wanted everyone else to know it too. Geddask and Madalyn were clearly an inspiration to him. If they could be in love so openly, they could be too. Methuselah truly loved him. She felt it in her mind and in the bond they shared. Arnam was in her thoughts no matter how far she roamed from him.

“There’s no way no one heard me anyway…” She covered her face with her tentacles out of embarrassment.

“Ye sing beautifully.” Arnam told her, gently pulling a tentacle away from her face and kissing her cheek. She moved the rest of her tentacles, looking at him. Her eyes squinted in amusem*nt.

“I’ll introduce myself to your crew when we awaken from our slumber.” She agreed to his request. Before he could pass out he had to clean up the mess he made.

“I’m sure you’ll fit right in.” He smiled. He grabbed a towel and wiped her clean to the best of his ability. “Sorry about the mess…” He sheepishly chuckled.

“It’s quite alright, love. Maybe I like your messes…” Methuselah mused. She gently traced her fingers over his scars.

He tiredly pressed his forehead to hers and closed his eyes. The heady and sweet scent of lilac made his bed the most tranquil place in the multiverse. There was just barely enough room for Methuselah and he held her close to keep her from rolling off. She drifted off in his arms…

When she awoke, she was curled up against his chest. She lightly booped his nose with a tentacle and he smiled as his eyes remained closed. “Captain… Arnam…” She mentally coaxed him to consciousness. He looked down at her and leaned in to kiss the top of her head. He felt fortunate that he woke up in her presence. She heard the crew members eagerly going downstairs to the Golden Helm’s tavern for breakfast. The sound of the cabin boys racing each other to get food thundered across the floor. “Quit running! You’ll wake the whole darn inn!” Doc chastised them.

Methuselah slowly sat up in bed. She floated up just above Arnam, nuzzling her forehead to his. “Good morning, my star.” He greeted her.

“Good Morning.” She acknowledged his greeting warmly.

“Still want to meet the crew?” He wanted to make sure she was absolutely comfortable. She straddled him, her tentacles writhed in thought.

“I do… I can’t spend my entire life afraid that those closest to you will hate me.” She reasoned.

“I’ll love ye no matter what happens.” He assured her. He’d give up his crew for her in an instant. If they hated her, he would go with her and never see them again.

She was flattered but didn’t want to break up his crew either. “If Madalyn and Geddask can do it, why not us?” He asked. He tenderly took her hands into his.

“I don’t want to hide our love any longer…” She agreed. It wasn’t fair that he couldn’t tell anyone how much he loved her. She wasn’t going to be unfair to him any longer.

He released her, allowing her to get dressed. “Well… Perhaps just a bit longer…?” She wanted to cuddle with him more before getting up. He wrapped his arms around her.

“Just a little longer…” He agreed. She cuddled up with him, sharing their emotional warmth.

“The starry midnight whispers,
As I muse before the fire
On the ashes of ambition
And the embers of desire,

"Life has no other logic,
And time no other creed,
Than: 'I for joy will follow.
Where thou for love dost lead!'"

He recited another poem. It was a promise he made that every time he saw her he would breathe a bit of beauty into her universe. She finally got up and gathered his clothing, haphazardly strewn about his room and handed them to him. “Many thanks, my star.” He took them and began pulling his clothing on. The bed creaked slightly underneath him as he got up from it.

She pulled on her dress and levitated arm in arm with him downstairs. She was nervous but she didn’t show it. “There you are, Captain!” Doc greeted him. “What’s with the mind flayer?” He asked.

“Their dress is so pretty!” One of the cabin boys piped up.

“Remember all those strange coincidences like the cosmic storm and the comet horse?” Captain Arnam asked his crew.

“Now that you mention it, our luck often seemed to turn around in dire circ*mstances…” Speedy, the goblin rubbed his chin in thought.

“Hello… That was me.” She waved a tentacle awkwardly in greeting. Geddask and Madalyn returned to the inn from Large Luigi's just in time to see the new face among the crew.

“This is my lover, Methuselah. I thought it was about time ye properly meet her.” Arnam properly introduced her.

“Huh… Small crystal sphere…” Geddask gurgled in surprise.

“So that’s why he let us on his ship… That sure explains a lot…” Madalyn covered a grin with her hand.

“We thought we heard weird noises from your room last night!” Speedy snickered. Methuselah’s tentacles twitch and her face flushes pale upon realizing half the crew knew what they were up to.

“That definitely explains a lot…” Madalyn smirked. Geddask’s tentacles wiggled as if silently laughing.

“I’ll see you later, love…” She pressed a tentacle to his lips even though it felt like her face was on fire. “It was a pleasure meeting everyone! Goodbye! Instans Eo Secta! With that she was gone in a wink of stardust.

“She doesn’t belong to any colony does she…?” Geddask asked. That was the only thing they were concerned about.

“Nay. She came from Ch’chitl but she’s a sorceress so they didn’t accept her. She was a little stowaway aboard The Dwarven Lady when I met her, trying to get off her planet. We got re-acquainted on Garden and we’ve been seeing each other since… ” He explains. Perhaps not all illithids were awful after all.

“Did you decide to introduce her because of us?” Madalyn asked. Captain Arnam bashfully rubbed the back of his head.

“Well I, uh…” He trailed off.

“I see…” Geddask observed. They hadn’t expected that but at least it got them far away from Toril. They already liked it here so much more…
